I love the historical allegory. Byron masterfully connects the lessons of the past with today's foibles. Well done!

There's nothing quite like factory farming and hunting to demonstrate that for most humans morality is a question of convenience rather than principle. How this affliction could overtake such brilliant and useful people as the authors of this fine research paper is a sad thing.

Nonetheless, what great writing and beautiful insights on a regular basis!

My two cents added here is probably discounted nine tenths. As always Bonner & Company combine current events and sound analysis.

We all know that clean energy is the only correct way and have a million ideas how to get there.

Natural gas & nuclear are the most likely “bridge” fuels. And, unfortunately, both lack political will. Here in Texas many of us remember how cold it was last February when the power was cutoff. Me & countless other Texans were ready to string-up some politicians.

They better get this energy Stalingrad figured out. Folks here are not happy with the foolishness of DC. And, we have no problem with becoming the Lone Star State again!

We don't hear any of this from mainstream media in the USA. We need to hear this, make citizens aware of what the Climate Control folks and their politicians are preparing for us. By the way Byron King your writing is clear, explicit and poignant. Look forward to hearing more from you especially from the Energy perspective. John

Fabulous article.

Too bad the lunatics we have in DC don't understand. Please distribute a copy of this to each and every one of them.

MVO is yielding 11% and must increase the dividend as oil goes up in price. For the last two years its been an interesting and lucrative way to take advantage of banker manipulations (-40 dollar oil) along with hot pepper inflation. These master limited partnerships cash you up while you're waiting for all hell to break loose! I got bullish on oil with help from Rick Rule, Bill Bonner and others commentary at just the right time during the covid sell off! Viva great thinkers!

Hitler hypnotized much of the German populace with the big lie of Nazi-ism in the 1930s. The subsequent mass psychosis led to Germany's destruction. Now the big lie of anthropogenic climate change has ensnared Deutschland in another mass psychosis. I, too, fear that our dear Germans may become the poster children for another self destruction less than 100 years later.

I actually knew this was happening, but always assumed there were smarter or less insane thinkers involved that would look up and say, hey wait a minute... I guess I was wrong. Oops.

If anyone has ever read 1984 by George Orwell, then is it a surprise to shoot yourself in the foot ? The world is comprised of sheep and lions ! you decide where the majority is due to education and intellect. Basically the world has gone tech and only knows what they are exposed to and not use their facilities to think for the future ! In other words the American people are STUPID !

Yamal peninsula barely rises above 45m [asl] it has 65m deep holes from outgassing/exploding methane, below that lie immense deposits of methane. Unless the Russians can persuade someone to buy and burn it it will be released as methane into the atmosphere. Barents also has huge deposits of methane that, unless utilised, will free themselves from their clathrate confinement, are already doing so to some extent, and with increasingly warm Atlantic waters penetrating the process can only accelerate. If Germany can't be persuaded to buy this gas and make use of it perhaps the Russians should double their price and fund burining it off to no purpose except to prevent it's escape.
