Joel great article and wonderful advice but my hope is that the international elite will not be drawn to the really unspoiled places especially here in Oz like the Limestone Coast or Nigaloo so many absolutely untouched places that we are trying to save from human desecration so please do your old country a favor and point folks towards central/south america where the criminal cartels need more gringo's to rob and kidnap otherwise they might look further afield !
Interesting podcast, but international investing in RE is difficult, complex, and poses a host of market, transactional, and legal risks. Tulum, by now, has been totally discovered (and overrun), and I would be surprised if anything there could be purchased at a price point that would make sense for an investor.
Joel and Ronan, good review. I have a question regarding London, I lived in London from 1964, through most of 1967, in Chelsea, and St Johns Wood, over looking Primrose Hill, I have been told do not go back to visit because I will be very disapointed. Are those areas ok or has trash taken over? Ralph Wood
Excellent podcast Joel...! Everyone can have his opinion, like a semi-retired and sailor-traveller looking for boltholes, like Bill and Dan developes for long time ago, i was seeking places with safe, nice weather, friendly people for my wife and me;the time to research is limited, everyone make his choices; i make my safe place in :Spain, Argentina and outside Temecula CA, no one is expensive and i can confirm that. Regards for your excellent work and share it... Saludos
My favorite destination is Roses, Spain. It's 1 1/2 hours due north of Barcelona and is a coastal city tucked on the edge of the mountains on the Mediterranean. Small enough to feel relaxed but big enough to have all th amenities...wind surfing starts every day at 2:00 on the topless beaches...

Those who venture into foreign travel generally think, and exist outside the box of what the majority accept as their limits of 'normality'.
