I am with Mike Noone. I live in New Zealand and all I have been able to do when the Malbec is on sale is press my nose up against the window.

I will have to be careful. I am beginning to think of Bonner et al in cult like terms. I am no economist and view economics as being a bit pithy but I find your collective writings contain more common sense than economics. You have got to wonder how so many "smart" people don't seem to be able to recognise that the debt mountain has long since reached the point where it could conceivably be paid back by conventional means. Maybe it is because the top of the mountain is obscured by the clouds.

Hi guys - lets tell the truth - the nobel prize is no longer an award since the peace prize was given to Barak Obama for getting elected. I would be ashamed to win one these days. Australia's John Howard managed to secure the independence of East Timor without a drop of blood being shed back in the day - never been done before in history as far as I know (happy to be corrected). Howard never got a look in for nobel peace prize. Obama wins it a few years later for getting elected then proceeds to set the Middle East on fire.

It aint Noble and it doesn't have anything to do with peace - same goes for economics to be sure.

Do you deliver the high altitude Malbec to really out of the way places like New Zealand?

I'd love to try some. Your order page says there are no shipping options...

Thanks for a great podcast. Brilliantly insightful, as always.

Loved it, every second of it, thank you for the deep and wonderful insights. I’ll pass it along to Mr. Powell, so he can review it over his morning coffee, (3 creamers, 4 sugars), perhaps he will alter the pivot. J/K 😂

Can someone tell me why the govt debt gets more costly? I guess I'm thinking of it in terms of a fixed mortgage but I don't see why the govt debt interest payment would increase tomorrow for today's debt... is govt debt variable?

Joel

great session with Bill .. love the interplay of history versus reality of today but so many other ingredients were not present in 1980 .. the main one is that we have had 5 x major flooding events

6 x major droughts, 4 x major fire storms and an absolute collapse of the agrarian industry .. the only industry left that is generating any income is mining ie digging bigger holes in the ground and shipping it north .. yep so what you say, nothing has changed in Oz or south of the equator for 200 years right always just a place for cheap resources (gold platinum etc) labor/mostly black or brown and now most of these places are heading back to eating anything that they can catch ie hunters and gatherers sort of like the folks now living in Baltimore .. so were to from here uh? yes you've changed your mantra from buy gold/silver to "cash first then gold" what a load of crap advice that is especially since you can't even buy the right kind of $$ usd as the currency markets are all controlled so the average punter is stuffed and stuck with a Rand/Ozzie etc peso which doesn't buy shit or anything else edible .. how about some real advice that will put food on our floating table as it washes down the Murray along with all the rest of the Chinese trash we bought with money we didn't have for products that are have an MTBF of less than the old 50 month we used to get from the era of made in WGermany/Japan/Singapore etc and of course the planet is still in exactly the same condition as when both of you arrived right .. same tides storms temperatures etc all the so called conditions in the big laboratory are just the same right .. nothing happened right ? you better enjoy them wines your flogging mate casue you won't be growing anything and happily give the land back to them 'originaros' .. so I went to sell some gold to a local farmer and he laughed and said all he'd accept was a slab of beer or a side of bacon other wise F*** Off .. well I went to the local bottle shop to see if I could buy a case of some silver and got the same story as no one seemed to remember that gold or silver were worth anything .. it was so long ago that kids born after 1980 never knew that we once used both metals to fill cavities in teeth .. ah well anyway if you can't eat, drink or you know what it, then it seems nobody want your bloody jewels gold silver platinum etc just stuff that only ever had value while you had some memory of another world that no longer exists even in the diluted imagination of a NetFlix generation .. so enjoy the Malbec!
